U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) is seeking qualified applicants to apply for the open Staff Assistant position in his Portland, OR office.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: transporting and operating AV equipment to and from meetings and events; driving the Senator to and from events and meetings; supporting the field representative team by assisting with grant support letters, coordinating both in-person and virtual meetings and events; and coordinating, tracking, and troubleshooting the technology needs of the state offices. Other duties may also include assisting with front office administrative duties, answering phones, processing mail, assisting with management of interns, providing support to casework staff, and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Highly organized and able to efficiently time manage in a high-pressure environment
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Interest in and ability to master technological requirements of the office
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Available for early morning, evening, and weekend hours, as well as for multi-day trips
  • Possession of a valid Oregon driver’s license
