Core Responsibilities



  • Develop and deliver the LEGO Group’s Government and Public Affairs strategy on environmental (circular economy, recycling and product and chemical safety) and market access (trade, tax and supply chain) policy issues
  • Drive collaboration within Corporate Affairs, Government and Public Affairs worldwide and key groups across LEGO branded entities to develop company positions and inform engagement strategies
  • Cultivate strong relationships within the political and regulatory community, civil society and our business partners
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate on legislation and regulation on core environmental and market access issues critical to the LEGO Group
  • Participate in environmental and market access related industry associations and coalitions
  • Collaborate with global government and public affairs team to drive effective cross-market engagement
  • Communicate the LEGO Group’s policy positions clearly and effectively to internal and external audiences

The GPA Americas team focuses on policy issues and opportunities across North and South America specifically related to business priorities and our corporate citizenship agenda. The team delivers impact through driving market specific plans in the region to enable our operations, while achieving our mission of inspiring the builders of tomorrow.


This role requires demonstration of curiosity to learn and anticipate future risks and trends, bravery in driving innovative and dynamic policy work; and strong focus to advance our agendas.


Do you have what it takes?



  • We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for our brand, and strong drive to achieve the LEGO Group’s strategic objectives across the Americas.
  • You have high integrity and will always do what’s right for the company and our primary role models, children.
  • Proven track record in Government relations, public affairs and/or experience in priority policy issue areas – environmental responsibility (required) and market access (preferred).
  • Experience of practicing government and public affairs in multi-national companies with track record of advancing legislative agendas at the state and national level, across the Americas.
  • Outstanding ability to build relationships and network internally and externally.
  • Deliver high quality, effective written and verbal communication to a wide range of partners.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in driving government and public affairs programs within global organizations or government institutions.
  • Experience and awareness of working in a matrixed organization – with a diverse network of collaborators and colleagues preferred.
  • Prior experience working in consumer product goods, trade associations, government, or companies with a strong manufacturing base preferred.
  • Ability to travel.
