Salary

$172,500 to $221,400 per year


Summary

This is an Excepted Service position under Title 42. Applications will be accepted from all groups of qualified persons, including Public Health Service Commissioned Corps officers. No previous federal experience is required. This appointment does not confer any entitlement to a position in the competitive service and may provide entitlement to Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) appeal rights.

Responsibilities

As the Director, the incumbent will:

Provide executive leadership in managing, directing, coordinating and overseeing all immunization and respiratory disease activities and policies, including emergency responses.

Address major vaccine preventable disease and respiratory challenges for the nation and oversee the transition and integration of COVID-19 related activities into the steady state operations of the center.

Make decisions and commit resources that are consistent with Congressional direction and counsel of the Director, CDC.
