Summary

This position is located within the Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Education, Income Maintenance and Labor Division (EIML).


Duties

A short sample of your writing analyzing a public policy or budget issue will be requested after application submission.

As a Program Examiner, GS-0301-9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following, for the assigned program areas:


Performing legislative, economic, program evaluation, financial management, procurement, information technology, regulatory and organizational analysis.

Reviewing and analyzing the formulation and execution of the budget, and preparation of budget materials.

Providing analysis of and recommendations on budget and policy issues for senior OMB officials, communicating information orally and in written form.

Conducting and monitoring analytical work on program and policy issues. .

Developing options based on detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Program Examiners are a core source of institutional expertise on all matters pertaining to the programs and operations of Federal departments and agencies they cover. They have a wide range of responsibilities for the programs in their purview.
