Media Monitoring Analyst

Job Description:

Conservative Public Relations/Communications firm seeking applicants for entry-level positions on the Media Monitoring team. The Media Monitoring team is responsible for keeping staff and clients informed of relevant breaking news and helping identify developing media trends important to the firm’s work. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-driven, team player, with a strong work ethic and experience in research or communications.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Utilize social media, TV, and online news platforms to identify, track, and distribute relevant news to internal and external parties

-Create and distribute multiple daily clips packages and other related products

-Monitoring, clipping, and editing video from live events and TV coverage

-Assist with identifying potential opportunities for clients to engage with relevant breaking news stories

Preferred Qualifications:

-Undergraduate degree, with a preferred major of communications, journalism, political science, public relations, or a related field of study

-A strong familiarity with current news trends and the political landscape

-Proactive, self-starter with an ability to adapt to quickly changing circumstances and workflow

-Experience navigating online news and social media platforms such as Google News, Tweetdeck, Meltwater, and more

-Prior experience with video clipping and editing
