About the Role:


As Senior Global Policy Manager, you will project manage important Global Market Development capabilities between HQ, regional & local Public Sector teams who are focused on addressing global policy challenges (e.g., Data Residency of Cloud Computing). You will bring your tenacious passion and solid knowledge of Public Sector, combined with project management and policy management background.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

  • Focus on supporting the execution of policy components of Anchor Tenant Workshops and PS Cloud Adooptions actino plans in 15+ countries
  • Support the Public Sector Global Policy lead and contributing to the definition of the new policy assets and strategy to support WWPS market shaping holistically, in both emerging and mature markets
  • Liaise and connect with the other GMD and WWPS teams to include a distinguished PS policy perspective in all WWPS programs
  • Coordinate & drive Policy Projects across Public Sector industries focused on global field impact namely in terms of Cloud Adoption (structured approach to overcoming regulatory challenges) and Cloud Solution Design for Government entities (optimal Hybrid Cloud architectures to address Data Sovereignty Concerns)
  • Lead the Policy-related Project Management of Best Practices & Field Sales Support for Local Datacenter acceleration, Digital Transformation in Government, and related fields of strong market potential
  • Support local PS teams to identify and nurture future opportunities at early stages (well in advance of public tenders) incl. playbook publication
  • Alignment and Integration into the Enterprise Commercial strategy, planning initiatives as required across the 3 key industries of Government, Defense and Intelligence and Education

Qualifications

What we are looking for:


Required:

  • 5+ years working experience in strategy & policy roles, including Government Affairs, Policy Management, External Affairs at the intersection of business, government, and legal policies
  • Demonstrable experience in collaborative project management on a multinational level. Ability to work successfully across a complex, highly matrixed environment.
  • Excellent skills in all aspects of planning, communications, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail.
  • Passion and proven record for execution with measurable results.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships across organizational lines.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the Government industries across State, Local, Regional, Federal/National, ideally in more than one country and focused on facilitating deal making, partnerships and sales
  • Good understanding of the Microsoft Platform Offering, namely in our 3 Clouds
  • MBA

Location/Travel – You may be based anywhere in the United States. You can expect global travel, less than 15%, contingent upon Covid-19 travel restrictions.

The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $125,000 and $166,800.


At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
