King County’s Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) is at the center of our region’s most exciting work to improve King County residents’ behavioral health. We seek an exceptional leader with behavioral health experience and a passion for equity and public service to direct the BHRD team.

Our next BHRD Director will lead a team of more than 170 people and steward an annual budget of $465M +.  They will coordinate a system of care, recovery and crisis response services for more than 70,000 people every year.  Serve along side a team advancing cutting edge work that includes King County’s proposed Crisis Care Centers Levy, the MIDD, the County’s Behavioral Health Crisis System and BH-ASO, and our nation-leading Integrated Care Network to deliver and integrate Medicaid-funded behavioral health care. 

The Behavioral Health and Recovery Division is one of 5 division's within King County's Department of Community and Human Services. Come join our exciting team and lead the team making a difference on one of our community's most important issues.

This executive leadership position's 2023 salary range is $170,851 to $216,569.
