The Team

Fidelity’s Government Relations and Public Policy group sits within Fidelity’s Corporate Affairs team, which includes Internal and External Communications, Regional Public Affairs, and Community Relations. Corporate Affairs is focused on executing on Fidelity’s core mission of better serving our customers and the communities we work in through impactful communications and policy outcomes across a range of stakeholder audiences, including legislators and regulators, community members, media, industry influencers and associates. As part of a centralized organization, you will have a role in supporting the firm’s activities on impactful issues facing the enterprise. Externally, we engage regularly with members and staff of the U.S House of Representative, U.S. Senate, Administration and regulatory officials, as well as industry trade organizations and state government officials. The GR Analyst will be a key player in supporting this dynamic team, with a specific focus on matters of federal and state legislation, regulation, and policy communications.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • 2-3 Years of Public Policy; Financial Services; Capitol Hill; Public Relations; or Public Affairs experience preferred
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Proficient in PowerPoint slide design
  • Experience in public relations, government affairs, public policy, or corporate communications
  • Familiarity with financial services public policy issues
  • Excellent people skills and stellar communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize issues and workflow while exercising good, independent judgment
  • Capable of efficiently producing thorough research; qualitative analysis; and clear, concise written work
  • Expertise in creating executive-level presentations and advocacy materials
  • Excel in working in a highly collaborative team environment

The Value You Deliver

  • Providing research, analysis, material development and project management support to advance the government relations and public policy team efforts engaging with policymakers, regulators, other government officials and other stakeholders.
  • Draft legislative and regulatory updates and briefings on political and policy developments and assist with talking points and prep memos for meetings with policymakers.
  • Scanning the external industry environment and monitoring policy, legislative, and regulatory developments.
  • Tracking and subsequently preparing summaries of outside events, including congressional hearings and regulatory open meetings, with a focus on the potential impact on Fidelity and the industry.
  • Assisting with the firm’s political program, including its political action committee/PAC.
  • Attending trade association and other meetings to keep the government relations and public policy team informed.
