About TerraCorps:

Located in Lowell, MA, TerraCorps is an environmental nonprofit working at the intersection of land conservation, sustainable agriculture, and food justice to grow the next generation of environmental leaders. We operate as an AmeriCorps program intermediary and administrator, facilitating access to federal resources that are often out of reach for small, community-based nonprofits.

Job Title:

TerraCorps Program Manager – Massachusetts

Job Purpose:

The TerraCorps Program Manager (TPM) is a member of the AmeriCorps Programs team responsible for implementation and administration of the TerraCorps service model across a network of service sites within an assigned geographic area. TPMs collaborate with service site partners to ensure service activities build their organizational capacity AND support TerraCorps members’ professional development. TPMs provide a high degree of program administration in support of maintaining AmeriCorps program compliance.

Reports To:

The TPM reports directly to the State Program Director for the assigned geographic region.

Responsibilities:

Program Administration and Logistics

  • Utilize America Learns, Salesforce, and eGrants databases to organize and process AmeriCorps member and service site data.
  • Plan annual calendar of programmatic events, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Produce and manage programmatic communications.
  • Manage AmeriCorps member performance measurement systems and reporting.
  • Review AmeriCorps member service plans for AmeriCorps compliance and providing guidance on TerraCorps Ends Policy alignment.
  • Plan and manage logistics for full-cohort service projects and trainings including remote and in-person events (webinar planning, booking live venues, housing, arranging travel, food, etc.).
  • Assist with AmeriCorps member recruitment administration.
  • Assist with AmeriCorps member onboarding and exiting administration.
  • Produce written SOPs for programmatic systems.
  • Assist with AmeriCorps program audits.
  • Manage AmeriCorps member gear sourcing and distribution systems.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.

Service Site Partnerships

  • Maintain productive and collaborative relationships with service site supervisors (external partner organizations).
  • Plan and facilitate AmeriCorps program orientation and TerraCorps systems training for service site supervisors.
  • Monitor service site compliance with AmeriCorps regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain effective communication with site supervisors to ensure clear understanding of TerraCorps program model in support of successful implementation.
  • Develop and provide resources for site supervisors that sustain their effective support of AmeriCorps member’s experience.
  • Provide productive and timely response to requests for support from site supervisors.
  • Facilitate win-win conflict resolution between AmeriCorps members and site supervisors.

Member Service Experience

  • Facilitate AmeriCorps program orientation and TerraCorps systems training for AmeriCorps members.
  • Plan and manage peer-to-peer and alumni-led member learning and support experiences.
  • Plan and facilitate AmeriCorps Member Recognition Ceremony.
  • Supervise up to four full-cohort service projects annually including booking venues, housing, travel, food, etc.
  • Plan and manage opportunities for AmeriCorps members to attend professional conferences (MLCC, RILWC, UFC, etc.) in exchange for volunteer service.
  • Conduct annual site visits to facilitate productive mid-year evaluations between site supervisors and AmeriCorps members.
  • Conduct periodic check-in calls with AmeriCorps members to monitor compliance and progress on service plans, assess supervisor engagement, and advise on benefit and support services utilization.
  • Facilitate win-win conflict resolution between AmeriCorps members and site supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years program management and/or program implementation experience, preferably in a nonprofit land conservation, community farming, or food justice organization.
  • Proven interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships, solve problems, mediate conflict and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to communicate across difference with colleagues, partners, and the public to contribute constructively to organizational learning relative to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ).
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced evolving environment.
  • Ability to structure tasks, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and set and manage goal achievement.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills characterized by active listening, respectful two-way communication, and timely and results-oriented communication.
  • Public speaking experience preferred.
  • AmeriCorps or other national service a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Generally, works in an office environment (90%). Limited travel required to partner organizations in region and statewide (5%). Limited supervision of external training events and outdoor field-based service projects (5%). Must have valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation.

DIRECT REPORTS:

This position has no direct reports.
