Democratic Chairman seeks Professional Staff for the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs to handle issues related to monetary policy, economic policy, and the impacts to consumers of these policies. Expertise or knowledge related to the banking laws such as the Federal Reserve Act and Dodd Frank Act, among others, is required. An understanding of the policy issues related to workers, the unbanked and underbanked, small and minority-owned businesses, and payment systems and interchange is desired. Applicants must be able to evaluate and explain matters before the Committee in written materials and in meetings and briefings with staff and committee members. Candidates with 2-5 years relevant experience, including economists, attorneys, or individuals with previous congressional or regulatory experience, are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be self-motivated, but also work well as part of a team.
