Climate Impacts Analyst

The Center for Climate Integrity (CCI) seeks a Climate Impacts Analyst to advance the organization’s work to help communities hold oil and gas corporations accountable for the massive costs of climate change.

Description

The Climate Impacts Analyst will lead and contribute to various projects that assess and analyze the costs of climate change on local and regional communities, as well as serve as a thought partner to CCI staff and partners on climate impacts and climate attribution research initiatives.  This new position is fully remote and will report to the Political Director.

Key Responsibilities

-Lead and manage a series of projects that analyze impacts and damages attributable to climate change and then calculate associated public costs. Responsibilities will include:

• Selecting impact(s) and locations to be assessed;
• Developing and validating methodologies used to assess individual impacts;
• Managing consultants and partners;
• Compiling methods and results for reports and other materials; and
• Drafting, editing, and finalizing climate impact reports.     

-Compile information and track the latest research about regional and local climate impacts.

-Serve as a thought partner to develop climate impact and attribution research projects that will support CCI’s legal, political, and communications work.          

-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Climate Impacts Analyst will have:

• Experience handling and analyzing large data sets and the results of modeled and statistically based assessments;
• Strong knowledge of the physical dynamics and scientific basis of climate change and climate impacts;
• Experience managing and completing large, complex, multi-disciplinary analyses;
• Experience and willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-disciplinary team; and 
• Strong analytical and writing skills.

Technology Requirements

CCI is an all-remote organization. Candidates will need to arrange for some of their own infrastructure and tools. A laptop computer will be provided but the selected candidate will need to have access to:

• Workspace
• Reliable internet connection
• Cell phone

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000.
