Job Description

Airbnb was born in 2007 when two Hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 4 million Hosts who have welcomed more than 1 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, Hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

The Community you will join:

Airbnb’s Public Policy Campaign Team exists to further the interests of our community of hosts and guests with politicians, regulators, opinion leaders and others who shape the political and legal context for our business, helping them to understand the significant social and economic contributions of our platform. Across the North America (“NAMER”) region, US and Canada specifically, we are engaged in hundreds of local conversations and negotiations with governments big and small. We engage governments at local, state, provincial and national levels directly and also use innovative advocacy and partnership strategies that actively involve our community and our stakeholders in making the case for fair, progressive home sharing rules.

The difference you will make:

With so much going on in so many places, Airbnb is seeking an experienced organizational and administrative professional to join the team as an Administrative Coordinator.

You're meticulously organized and detail-oriented, but can also see the big picture and make judgements about priorities whenever needed. You are target-focused and find the fastest, most efficient way to get to our destination. You’re a great team player without ego, who is willing to take on projects big and small. You’re capable of working in cross-functional teams across cultures and timezones. You have excellent communication skills and an ability to take big ideas and translate them into actions. You can quickly navigate new and unfamiliar systems and processes - and design your own.

A typical day:

  • Provide administrative support to the North America Campaigns Team. This includes email and calendar management, note-taking, meeting preparation and follow up, report and resource/database maintenance.
  • Maintenance of budget forecasting and partnering with the global operations team to track and analyze budget and expenses.
  • Facilitate contracts and payments to vendors
  • Assist Regional Program Manager with ad-hoc operations projects such as offsite planning and virtual events
  • You will assist with and/or own reporting responsibilities and content creation including drafting emails and updates about the work of the team
  • You will liaise with various internal teams and assist in streamlining current processes as they interact with our policy campaigns teams
  • Team support - you will work with managers in the North America Campaigns Team to organize various policy projects on an ad-hoc basis
  • Build effective relationships with other teams within Airbnb as necessary

Your expertise:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, including supporting a team in an administrative capacity
  • Expertise in google suite, especially Sheets, Slides, and Docs
  • Experience managing a budget
  • An ability to exercise judgment and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibit strong process-oriented skills and strive to find the most efficient way to do things without sacrificing a high quality of work and/or results
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with leadership and collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals and deliver on priorities
  • Proven track record of being reliable, prepared, responsive and eager to learn
  • Strong prioritization, multitasking and time management skills
  • Acute Passion for trying, learning, improving, and sharing best practices
