Job Description

The National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) seeks a seasoned compliance expert to lead a team of compliance counsels who provide our members with accurate, timely, and comprehensive assistance on federal regulations impacting credit unions.

Who we are:

NAFCU is helping credit unions unlock their potential by helping them grow through best-in-class advocacy, compliance assistance, and education. Everything we do is designed to help credit unions increase their ability to serve America’s main streets – we believe credit unions are the best financial services option for the American consumer, and we want them to win.

Growing also is key where our employees are concerned. Within our 70+ person staff, we look to support each other to be creative and curious. Extreme member service is what we provide our credit unions, but it’s also what we provide one another so we can meet our individual and Association goals in the short- and long-term. We want to work in the company of a diverse, inclusive group of people who treat their colleagues with respect and warmth.

Who you are:

You are an innovative leader who enjoys helping your team of professionals learn and grow. Equally important, you think critically and can help NAFCU find innovative ways to provide compliance products and assistance to our members, so they can keep pace with the changing regulatory environment.

You enjoy learning new things and are willing to roll up your sleeves and learn by doing. You appreciate professional development opportunities and enjoy working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment that also has work-life balance.  You thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere and take pride in helping others. You are strategic in your approach to issues and problems and in the development of new business and opportunities for growth.

You have at least five years of consumer financial services compliance experience, preferably related to credit union compliance, and you have experience in leading, building, and coaching a team of employees. You have strong research, writing, and organizational skills and enjoy taking ownership of projects and improving processes. You enjoy public speaking and can communicate complex ideas to a layperson audience.
