The Regulatory Affairs Senior Analyst – Consumer will be part of Citi’s Global Regulatory Strategy & Policy team and report directly to the Consumer Policy Lead. This role will support Citi’s regulatory advocacy efforts with respect to consumer financial protection regulations, fair lending, and consumer banking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Citi’s Global Regulatory Strategy & Policy team in driving regulatory advocacy efforts regarding the development of new and proposed consumer financial standards, rules, regulations, and other developments.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on U.S. consumer financial policy developments that will impact current and future Citi business, financial services more broadly, and the general business environment.
  • Work with team and internal stakeholders including government affairs, legal, and business representatives to coordinate and convey Citi policy positions.
  • Prepare regulatory advocacy briefing materials for senior management, including summaries and talking points
  • Prepare reports, internal communications, and presentations on regulatory advocacy issues and developments
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to build awareness of regulation issues that could impact Citi business or customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, with particular regard for the firm's reputation, as well as safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Citi policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Regulatory affairs work experience or equivalent, 5-7 years; experience at top consulting firm, regulatory agency, or trade association, a plus.
  • Knowledge of banking and financial services industry, particularly fair lending, UDAAP, examination standards, and the CFPB regulatory umbrella.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex regulations and rules.
  • Self-starter that demonstrates initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness to manage projects and can work independently.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and perform tasks in a timely manner.
