Canvasser

Responsible for canvassing targeted doors, in targeted districts, with the goal of encouraging union members and the public to vote “No” on ballot question 3 in November. This position will report to the Team Coordinator. Upon completing canvassing, the canvassers will be expected to thoroughly debrief with your Team Coordinator concerning useful data from the field, any in-depth conversations, and best practices developed.

You will be employed by Extra Extras, Inc. but will work directly for and represent the Nevada State AFL-CIO. The NV AFL-CIO is the state umbrella federation of all National AFL-CIO affiliated unions in Nevada which represents over 200,000 union members and their family members. The Nevada State AFL-CIO represents and fights for all working families, union and non-union, around political campaigns, legislative issues, and holds elected officials accountable.

As mega millionaires like Sheldon Adelson, the Koch Brothers and large corporations try and buy our political and legislative process, we will aim to inform, educate, energize and activate our networks of working families to have their voices heard. By signing up to get involved this election session, you’ll take the first step towards setting the direction of our work around political campaigns and legislative issues and holding elected officials accountable.

Schedule – 36 Hours Per Week - Compensation is $15/hour for a possible total of 36 hours per week. Monday – Thursday: 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Saturday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Qualifications

Current Registered Voter / Eligible to Register to Vote

18 + years or older

Available to work the designated schedule (minimum three days a week commitment) Knowledge of smart devices

Ability to walk long distances in extreme heat

Knowledge of Question 3 preferred, but not required (training provided)
