National Media Research, Planning, and Placement, a political, issue advocacy, and corporate media buying agency in Alexandria, Virginia, is looking for a Media Assistant to join our media buying team. Our Republican clients are active in some of the most competitive races across the United States and our agency has a direct impact on their electoral success.

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a fun and fast-paced campaign environment. This is an entry level position, but experience in advertising and political campaigns is welcome.

This full-time position is temporary through January 2019, but exceptional candidates who display interest in the field and keen skills will be considered for a permanent position. This is a tremendous opportunity to learn about the advertising industry and is an excellent introduction into a career in politics or media.


Specifically, the Media Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Managing advertising orders, processing payments, and ensuring correct spot/traffic is in rotation for clients.
  •  Assist with research using tools such as Scarborough and Nielsen Answers. No prior experience is needed; all new hires will be trained.
  • Tasked with organizing clients’ workflow, coordinating with vendors, and working with senior associates to meet client needs.
  • Providing additional team assistance as needed.


The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements: 

  • A preferred minimum of 6 months of previous internship experience in an administrative or office support roles.

  • Possess meticulous attention to detail and superb organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high pressure environment, able to multitask and see multiple projects to completion.

  • Able to anticipate needs before they arise and resolve issues quickly.

  • Possesses excellent people skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of personalities.

  • Competency using the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated interest in politics and political campaigns.
