Facebook seeks a Public Policy Manager, Competition to join the Global Public Policy Team. The team's mission is to lead Facebook's engagement with policymakers around the world. This person will support the Competition Policy team, and work closely with the company's Legal, Product, and wider Policy teams.

In this role, you will assist in the formulation and implementation of the company’s global competition public policy strategy. This role will also monitor and analyze competition policy trends for the company and relevant stakeholders. This role will assist in advising Facebook's internal teams on our public policy strategy to help guide the development of products and services. Additionally, the Public Policy Manager will aid in the development of Facebook's positions in public presentations or closed-door policy briefings.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in US and global competition policy and a strong knowledge of digital economy and internet policy issues. The successful candidate will also utilize communication and analytical skills to consistently deliver high-quality work under often severe time constraints. They will directly influence and collaborate with internal peers to drive the development and implementation of the company’s competition public policy strategy both domestically in the U.S. and abroad. Experience supporting executive leaders in government or the private sector is preferred. You should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve.

This is a full-time position located in the Washington, D.C. office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify, monitor, and analyze competition policy issues affecting Facebook at the international, federal, and state levels

Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses and internal policy meetings

Advise Facebook teams on competition policy matters to guide development of services and policies

Represent Facebook in meetings with key stakeholders

Communicate Facebook’s positions in public presentations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor degree in Law, Economics, or related field

8+ years of public policy experience (3+ years of competition policy experience)

Knowledge of, and experience working with, competition policy matters and the related technology business and policy ecosystem

Communication and presentation experience

Experience working with policymakers as well as international organizations

Project management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate degree in Law or Economics

Experience working in the technology industry

Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
