Facebook’s international institutions team is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and detail‐oriented policy expert to join our Public Policy team in our Washington D.C. office. The successful candidate will be working on international policy issues with policymakers at the multinational level and at the international federal level. The team handles policy matters, participates in international conferences and international policy discussions, and leads the company’s interactions with multilateral and other non-governmental organizations and trade associations involved with international institutions. The candidate will work on a variety of projects and policy issues with global relevance in partnership with Facebook team members across public policy and communications. This team member will identify policy risks and strategic opportunities for the company on the international front, develop and draft strategies for engaging with international organizations, conduct research and policy analysis, and help leading our relationship and direct interactions with those organizations and others.

Skills

  • Support Facebook's public policy and communications activities with international organizations.
  • Monitor and analyze reports, proposed recommendations and resolutions on policy matters of relevance to the company globally.
  • Draft policy-related materials including reports, briefings and talking points for senior leadership.
  • Work with policy team members around the world when they work and interface with international organizations.
  • Research international policy areas of interest to the company.
  • Support outreach to international organizations, federal governments, diplomatic corps, and trade associations.
  • Research and develop policies related to Internet policy and Internet governance matters of importance in the international fora.
  • Partner with senior team members on a wide range of projects.
  • Strategize and organize international events, including trainings and educational outreach.
  • Help in coordinating internal communications to other teams.

Education

  • A graduate degree in law, political science, public policy, international relations, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in policy, research, communications, or government preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in politics, public policy, and technology in the international front.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of global governance and the landscape of international institutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully.
  • Experience in the internet technology industry a plus.
  • Prior work experience in a multilateral international organization is a plus.
  • Ability to speak other languages also a plus.
  • Passion for Facebook and online communication a must!

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree, MBA, or Law Degree
  • Experience working with international relations and organizations
